2019 Mini Summer Institute

For educators at all grade levels and disciplines (Kindergarten-College)
Facilitated by Long Island Writing Project Teacher Consultants
Teachers will be immersed in writing, reading, and teacher inquiry, ultimately returning to their classrooms empowered to bring their students to higher levels of engagement. Shared reading, writing-to-learn activities, memoir writing, writing groups, active listening techniques, and revision strategies will be addressed. Techniques for teaching argument writing, as well as narrative and informational writing will be modeled. We will consider current pedagogical theory and best practices during our time together.
15 hours of in-service and CTLE credits available
